Emporia State University’s Department of Student Wellness is accepting applications for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to provide
primary medical care to students in our Health Services clinic. ESU’s Health Services support the academic mission of the University by providing students with quality
health care and health education programs. The Student Wellness department is strongly committed to helping students achieve a balanced and healthy lifestyle leading to
academic success.
Appointment:
Full-time, mid-August through mid-May, half-time, mid-May through Mid-August. Schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 12
p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters. The summer schedule is to be determined in cooperation with the other ARNP.
Responsibilities:
Within scope of practice, the ARNP provides evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of general medical problems; writes prescriptions based on
approved protocols and state regulations; provides patient education; and serves as a consultant to nursing staff and other Student Wellness staff in the areas of physical
assessment, health care planning, mental health, and women’s health care. The ARNP is an integral part of a treatment team, including a laboratory director, nursing
coordinator, nursing staff, and a medical supervisor.
Qualifications:
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), with a current licensure in Kansas required as well as strong verbal and written communication skills; and an
understanding of and appreciation for student services. An interest and/or experience in providing prevention education and outreach services preferred. Applications from
